Busch’ll in Bristol
So the phone rang with 34 laps remaining in last nights RASSCAR event from Bristol, Tennessee… With some Dude named Kyle Busch laeding, good I remarked, as I hoped that Roundy Round BAD BOY Kyle Busch would do the unthinkable and become the very first ever driver to win ALL three events at one track on the same weekend… As Busch had already taken the Pickem-Up Trucks race Wednesday night and then apparently deliberately Spun-out his Dancin Pardner Brad Keselowski enroute to winning the DoubleWide Lites event Friday night.
Oh, Busch is leading with 4-laps remaining… Blah-blah-blah; HE WON! WTF? It was just four laps remaining… Uh, its only bout 16 seconds a lap… So I wryly inquired; does that mean itll be known as the Buschll? Uze knows, I heard Ol Robin Miller call it the Chipll after Ganassi won three races over the Mid Ohio weekend… Albeit I dont know if Robin came up with Dat or borrowed it from someones else?
Way to go Kyle! As I still say he was genuinely BUMMED when he was forced to forgo testing a Toyota F1 chassis when RASSCAR mandated he positively attend some minor Awards banquet…
Curry flavoured ‘Truckin
NO! I’ll skip the jokes ’bout Tastes like Chicken!
WTF? As I was settin up the Ol Memorex recordin device this morning, the soothing high pitched screechiness of Mikey Aw Shucks Waltrips voice could be heard dronin on bout the RASSCAR Pickem-Up Trucks poundin round Charlotte in what appeared to be live Practice coverage on SPEED… Thus it was totally by accident that I lucked into an interview with ex-Formula 1 Indian Driver Narain Karthikeyan, WHAT THE HELL? As the wide eyed Indian was telling his interviewer that they were currently puttin a new lump in his Truck… As apparently Ive missed the Memo upon Karthikeyans crossover to Pickem-Up racing.
Narain Karthikeyan is growing NASCAR fans in India
Thus, therell now be two unemployed Formula 1 Pilotos in this weekends Camping World Thunder from North Carolina, as Karthikeyan
Will be joined by Nelson Pickett Junior, a.k.a. NielsonHo Piquet Jnr. Whos probably reveling in the news that Italian Police have seized the HMS Briatore, Err Force Blue, the luxury liner owned by his ex-Renault F1 Boss Flavour Flav at sea off La Spezia, Italy, as Briatore is being investigated for Tax Evasion and Smuggling…
Pickett Junior returns to Trucks
HES BACK!
Yep, Yall read that right, Nelson Pickett Junior (Piquet Jr.) has been named to drive in three upcoming RASSCAR Pickem-Up races for Billy Ballew Motorsports…
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 21, 2010) – Billy Ballew Motorsports announced today that Nelson Piquet Jr. will drive its No. 15 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) entry for three events this season. Piquet will pilot the Qualcomm, ArcSight Toyota Tundra at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 21, Texas Motor Speedway on June 4 and Michigan International Speedway on June 12.
Nelson Piquet Jr.
“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a truck again,”
“I really enjoyed racing at Daytona and learned a lot. I gain a better understanding of how these trucks handle with each lap I take. These upcoming races will be exactly what I need to continue growing as a driver.
“It’s going to be a great experience to work with the 15 team. They have great people on their team and I’m excited to be working with them. “
Sebring preview, sorta…
Yeah I know this is supposed to be the home of Fender-LESS Racing, but as Yall may know, many of the top Open Wheel drivers on the planet ultimately find there way into prolonging their driving days by taking up residence in various TinTop categories, as Ive already noted five ex-Gran Primo Pilotos appointment at Peugeot.
Anyways heres a further look at the competition for this weekends event…
So, what about Bob?
I am not really sure what triggered the insult posted on the world wide web thingy directed at Versus lead commentator Bob Jenkins… Nor do I plan to go N search for it, as I feel it was unwarranted, since I listened/watched the entire Sao Paolo telecast and I thought that all three announcers did fine! Although Im not sure what to think about that Hippy Dippy Weatherman, a one Messer BRUT Arute-Arute… As Im actually looking forward to having LyndieCar Thackston and Robbie Purple Floyd back on the show…
So, I dont know if Yall are getting tired of Mwah remindin yuhs that Im a Visually Impaired Vurd Botcherer… But I only bring this up to illustrate the point that for myself the Talking Heads are a very integral part of my continued Motorsports coverage, as obviously they Paint the Picture for me and thus I depend on decent Broadcasters covering the action to fill in the details for me…
Ive been listening to Mr. Jenkins (amongst others…) for a very long time now, as in way back to his RPM2Night Dazes, when ESPN actually broadcasted other racing series besides RASSCAR… And Ive always found him to be a credible Broadcaster, not to mention becoming convinced of how much of a Class Act he is by the multiple times hes dropped into AutoSport Radio to give another enjoyable interview.
And perhaps it was just me, but I thought that Professor Jon Beekhuis N Robbie Buhl did the majority of the talking Sunday morning, to the point where Buhls voice became raspy from his excessive chatter… As Robbie N Jon bantered back N forth over what strategy should Ryan The IZOD Dude Hunter-Reay employ towards the stalking Ryan Disco Inferno Briscoe… To which Bob seemingly steered clear of.
And my only critique of Messer Jenkins performance would be that somewhere in the middle? He seemed to have a DW moment where he momentarily swooned over something Princess Sparkle Pony was doing, but I cant even recall what that was?
Nah, Mr. Jenkins, you Sir do NOT need to apologize… As I rather appreciate the way you lead the In-Booth Crew, even going so far as to admit on air that you dont try to stop the two ex-drivers consternations, a la Mike Hulls self appointed Mediator role at TCGR, which Im certain is by design…
Next up will be Marty Nationwide Reid and Scott What Pace Car Goodyear… Which means most likely a veritable Slobber-fest over DannaCars every move, which means Ill most likely need to tune-in to Mike Yippee-Kai-Eh! King and Davey Hamilton on the IMS Radio Network instead, as long as IndyCar.com can bother to post the correct New York time!
Oh, and lastly, another thing I appreciated was Bob Jenkins actually reading off the Row-by-Row Starting Grid instead of running it on some little tiny ticker tape stripe upon le Telescreen, So later today Ill raise a Guinness in a Toast to you Bob! So, dont fret, Ill be back for the next Versus broadcast…
Tommy Hilfiger to get IZID treatment
Just had this lil news blurb sent to me from Indiana… that the Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. has announced that it will acquire Tommy Hilfiger in a deal worth 3 billion… As in B in Billions! As the tie-up of the sheik Hilfiger with IZODs parent company PVH should see combined sales of $4.6b… As PVH owns a multitude of clothing brands such as Calvin Klein and Arrow to name just a few, as the deal will enable PVH to introduce its brands abroad…
You really should listen to Trackside
So Im a little late to the party, as Ive just begun listening to Trackside with Cavin N Kevin on a weekly basis in the year 2010, BUTT!
Im certainly warming-up to listening to this Dynamic Duo pontificate each week on 1070-The Fan, which Ive been tunin into via le internets As after all, where else can you go to hear Curt Cavin actually make Gil De Ferran laugh out loud multiple times? Or go from The Captains other Prodigal Son, a.k.a. Gil De Ferran, whos quite methodical, and always uses thought out reasoning to the mile O minute, flame retardant required verbosity of Davey STUD! Hamilton As I was totally unaware of the fact that Davey and Gil have something in common Theyre both members of the 1995 Indy 500 Rookie Class
Along with the somewhat coy musings of Cavin, like; were still awaiting the announcement of who Dale Coynes Primary Driver will be After Kevin announced Milka Dunos full season inking Not to mention Curts quip about Milka only meeting 2 of the 4 portions of Boy Scouts of America requirements
And Im certain that both Kevin N Cavin will have plenty to say during this Thursday evenings Preamble for the Indy Car season opener on the Streets of Sao Paolo
